Smoked Swisher for years, little 5-packs mostly. Didn't have a lot of flavors then, now everybody does, so they do too. Still think sometimes they a little dry, these pretty good though. Still can't seem to git around to smokin' a grape anything. Don't like purple grapes anyhow - grape jelly, red wine - but seen some white grape ones somewheres, don't remember. I'd do them, like I do white wine, pink wine whatever that is. Anyhow they about right for that 2100 smoke, back to a Good Times Black Sweet for midnight. Likin' the Mango Lemonade a lot, don't see it in the pic. Hafta find a shop with alluvem and put in an order. And I do PBJ, with strawberry. Smuckers premixed , nice soft honey wheat bread. Okey-dokey. Stuff crazy as all get-out, wonderin' of the cabal movin' closer to the edge, what's down there. The BRICSIA+whatever agreeing on their gold-backed money and half the world - the half that we ain't part of - doing most of the makin' stuff up against literally electronic dollars. All the preppers hoarding gold and silver along with the guns and food and other stuff, them that ain't may not like what happens. How long it'll take who knows? Someone axt me t'other day why I don't fix the site up some. Hell it ain't like I got a vast audience. Mostly use it to see how close the FBI is to comin' after me. I'm probably pretty far down the list for now. Of course them dudes that dump the whole site every few days may be usin' a proxy in Germany (see a lot of them) or some other furrin country. Trump said he needs one more indictment to clinch the win. He may be right, but if they try to lock him up before the primaries ever start, or during, gonna be something to see. Whether the SCOTUS will decide to put a stop to the foolishness is hard to say. It's them kinda times we're in. They really are scared of him, and no tellin' what they'll do. Finished re-reading those two for the first time in years. Read them on the school bus in junior high, graduating from 12-cent comics. Guess they what used to be called pulp fiction, only they weren't magazines. Between the Executioner and Destroyer books I managed do endure a few bus rides. Bleev the Destroyer started a couple years after the Executioner, more literate and varied. Mack always hosing down the Mafia goons with hot 'streams of 9mm Parabellum' (that phrase actually googles) slugs while Remo and Chiun arguing about Remo's lack of discipline and Remo tryin' to catch Chiun in a boo-boo. Made a positively terrible movie sometime in the '90s ( Fred Ward being it's sole redeeming element) that was probably an attempt to get a series going. Plenty of material, but hardly the appealing to the lowest common denominator. OK, it weren't positively terrible, unless you were a fan of the books and still haven't come to terms with the fact that the movies screw up everything. Fred was great in the Tremors movies too, pretty much everything he in. The Destroyer origin book was pretty good too, Remo waiting to go in the 'lectric chair and a spook comin' in and offering him a way out. Changed that in the movie too of course. Aside from that just high-quality escapist stuff. There been so many reprints no tellin' how many millions out there. Around 500 books and about that many more by the time the Stony Man and Phoenix Force and all, Don quit writin' after about a few dozen and sold the brand to the publisher. Somebody made a ton of money. Don died fairly young, relatively speakin' these days. Like probably a lot of authors connected with lowball literature he had more depth than you'd expect. Military in WWII, NASA, some other stuff. Anyhow dug'em out of the library for a bud who does some literary blogging, they about what I expected. Not bad, not great writing-wise. Dunno how realistic his description of the Mafia circa 1970s is, watching the coverage of Gotti and some other dudes got busted seems probably pretty close. Did I say literary? Could use a bit more rain, but it'll probably be here soon enough. August near half over, mebbe have the construction wrapped up by September. Spend the winter cleanin' up and plantin' trees. Thinkin' bout a few pines on the east side, actually making the patch there bigger. Mebbe expand that patch of cedars, cut a couple of deaders from the tornado. Seems Trump got another batch of indictments from the simian persecutor down in Jawjuh, 'course it just a tool doin' what it made for. Pretty much Darkness at Noon for him as well as the folks in the J6 gulag. Figger about a thousand years in prison if they get a few convictions. 'course if he get elected - take a lot to make that happen - it's all good. He can shut down the states easy enough, and if he did win there no tellin what he'd do. Probably the Burn, Loot, Murder crowds be unleashed in more places than the summer of love couple years ago. Fine with me, long as the free states deal with them appropriately and let the commies do what they want in their colonies. Probably be a war no matter what, just depends on where the Fort Sumter is this time. I do hope Trump has something set up go get out of the country if he loses, somewhere that won't extradite. He wouldn't like it but better than ending up like Bhutto. They kill'em for sure they get him locked up. Could be if he left they wouldn't try too hard to get'em back, no matter how much they hate him. He hard-headed though, figures he'll be elected a third time. Might well do it, but he got elected last time if you just count the real votes, and probably same thing happen this time around. Sure, Kennedy and that chick that kinda crazy could run on third and fourth party tickets, mess it up enough all the riggin' in the world won't do it. 'course they'll kill Kennedy for sure if he goes that way. You doubt it, hide and watch as they say. Never paid much attention to Hawaii. Only on the ground a few times and off base fewer. Bunch of commies, commie behavior. Story is they completely unprepared for anything goin' wrong, so when Maui dang near burnt up the fire pretty much had its way. Glen and KK back in the day. Don't remember when, good twenty years. Time gets by fast. Priest probably the awesomest show ever, last caught'em on the Epitaph tour. Probably wouldn't have the energy to go see anyone these days, that's OK. Probably the metal scene is even better a decade later - it doesn't seem to have been infected with the rot that has pervaded every other corner of human society. Be fun to see the audience though, even ten years ago there's young'us and old geezers and in between. Seein' as the bands was ole geezers. Wouldn't mind seein Heep again, they just get better all the time. Bigger screen and probably some new speakers when I redo the den. Gal at my smoke stop accidentally gave me a couple packs of blueberry-pineapple 4Ks the other day. Or she stuck a couple in extra without charging me, 'cause the kiwi-berrys I asked for was there too. She a sweetie, wouldn't put it past her. Anyways, they ain't bad. Knew it was gonna happen, already was makin' pics of him in prison. Alex did this one a while back. Probably if the chimps in Jawjuh hadn't made a mugshot hed've asked for one. Ya'know chimps are cannibals? It's more common than the scientists admit, in fact it's their usual behavior. BTW, Edgar Rice Burroughs described it in his Tarzan novels a century ago, figure there must've been scientists as admitted it. They'll also rip your face off if you giv'em psycho drugs. Science was more honest a century ago. Makes me wonder, seriously, what will happen if things get so broken there's no food in the urban cesspools like Atlanta. Will they eat each other? They already kill'em like it's nothing, the food ain't coming in... well, the gated communities in those areas better have some good gates. And security, but they can't keep cops (competent ones anyway) so private security could be a problem. There'll be them as will do anything for enough money, but this could get ugly. Nobody sees this not gettin' bad, real bad unless something miraculous happens next year. I commented a while back in one of our conversations (we're all SF readers from way back) that Trump may be the most incongruous Paul Atreides there could be. Ya'know Paul, had the empire on its knees (and the Emperor his prisoner) but had to fight a duel to the death with his evil cousin first. Whether he HAD TO is debatable (and debated) but he probably didn't want any question to his authority. And as his mom said, he's like his grandpa that got kilt bullfighting.

Started reading Aztec Autumn. Read Aztec, Raptor and The Journeyer back in the day, bought Spangle but about that time got to not having enough time to read so it's on the shelf. Maybe get to it someday. Autumn was published in 1997, seventeen years after Aztec. Didn't read it them 'cause wasn't interested in getting into a series on one subject. Reason I dropped out of George Martin's Game of Thrones books as I call'em. Read the first one, OK but I liked him better in the SF area, and when the second one came out I bought it but never started reading it. Too many books, too little time. Anyway after reading "A Song for Lya" (that one really gets you) and "Fevre Dream" (need to read that one again someday) among others. Lot of his short SF back in the day was good. Anyhow, decided I'd go ahead and read'em (apparently there's four more after this, written after his death by his former editor some someone else) just because I reckon. About to get things settled down, be a couple years cleanup after the storm and that's daylight stuff. Gets dark I come in and read and step out on the deck (gonna be front most of the time now I reckon, the view's so good) for a libation and a seegar. Thu 31 Aug 2023 09:08:48 PM CDT
Found this little jewel a few weeks ago. 154K, looks and drives like new. Apparently the previous owner took even better care of it than I do mine, and that's sayin' something. It got the longer bed, guess about a foot but haven't measured. Not that I haul anything to speak of. Get it in for some new belts and hoses (over 15 years old makes sense) which I just got around to on my other one (266K) and cheap insurance. Now if I could just find an extended cab in that condition. Be willing to go up to a 2012 model, last year for that type, but havin' another 09 be cool. If I could do that might take the one with the most miles and to a mechanical resto, leave the dings and scratches, ain't many. Or what'd be really cool is put the driveline from a fourth-gen 'stang. Maybe the V-6 with a four-speed auto tranny. 'course the fifth-gen was more in the same time frame, and might fit better. Idunno, hafta talk to one of the younger guys, too old and crippled to work on'em anyway. End of August finally, weather finally gettin' nice, chilly at midnight in fact. Time to plant trees soon, see how many of the new volunteers survived the summer. Thinkin about a group of pines somewhere, not sure how many or where. Just might be the first time the vegetation around here gets proper attention next year.
